Our Mission

The only course we teach is the 60 hour “Principles of Real Estate” course required prior to taking the licensing exam and the Continuing Education courses required for licensees to update their licenses.  We strive to educate our “Principles of Real Estate” students in such a way that they have a better chance of passing the PSI licensing exam than with any other educational institution.  When our students call us to say “Thanks, I just passed the exam”, we know why we exist.

I became licensed as an agent in 1974, as a broker in 1975, and then obtained a North Carolina Broker license in 1976. In 1978 I was hired to manage Colonial Realty and one year later I bought the firm, obtained a CENTURY 21 franchise, and named it CENTURY 21 FIRST COLONY REALTY.

In 1988 I opened Churchland Academy of Real Estate and began teaching the real estate licensing course and the continuing education course for licensees of Virginia.  I also teach at Tidewater Community College. Since my teaching includes topics such as ethics and license laws, you will find my office and its licensees know and abide by Virginia license laws and the National Association Code of Ethics.
